Connecting sustainability with complete communities and a strong economy is vital in creating a thriving waterfront and city that can be enjoyed for generations. In our 2020-21 Integrated Annual Report, we provide an update on our revitalization efforts over the past year and highlight how our projects are building connections that characterize thriving cities, including physical, social, economic as well as intangible connections.

Guided by our key priorities; public good, jobs and innovation, city-building and financial sustainability, our Rolling Five-Year Strategic Plan 2022/23 – 2026/27 sets the strategic direction for the Corporation for the next five years with a focus on 2022/23 and highlights what we will accomplish in the near term as well as our aspirational goals for the future.

Waterfront Toronto today announced the shortlist of Indigenous artists and Indigenous-led artist teams, who will be invited to propose public artworks at two major sites in the West Don Lands of downtown Toronto.

Waterfront Toronto, joined by MP Julie Dabrusin, MPP Amarjot Sandhu, Mayor John Tory, and Toronto City Councillor Paula Fletcher, marked the arrival of a colourful new bridge that will become a landmark on Toronto’s skyline, connecting the future Villiers Island to surrounding revitalized Port Lands.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) stage of the process for the Quayside Development Opportunity has closed. Waterfront Toronto is proceeding with evaluating the submissions and looks forward to sharing the outcome in early 2022.

In May, ten compliant submissions for the Quayside Development Opportunity Request for Qualifications (RFQ) were received. The number and quality of submissions is a clear indication that Toronto’s waterfront remains a desirable development destination, and that Quayside can and will contribute to the city’s post-pandemic recovery.
