redpath waterfront festival a huge success

This year’s Redpath Waterfront Festival, presented by the Waterfront BIA, brought over 400,000 people to the waterfront to experience on-land and on-water programming including live music, art, culture and cuisines. Festival events occurred over a four-day period at various waterfront locations, including Canada’s Sugar Beach in East Bayfront.

Highlights of the festival included a spectacular water light show at the ?Redpath Water Theatre” staged in the Jarvis Slip next to Canada’s Sugar Beach.  Up to 2,000 people visited the whimsical urban park each night to watch the multi-media water show. A portion of the park’s plaza space was transformed into a stylish patio allowing visitors to wine and dine; others simply relaxed under the park’s signature pink umbrellas to listen while watching a parade of sailboats on the lake. Festival-goers at Sugar Beach got to listen to local and international musicians performing blues, folk and gospel music all weekend long. Other festival events were also well-attended, including ‘Saltscapes,’ a celebration of east coast culture that brought HTO Park East to life with live music, dancing and food.
