The design competition began eight weeks ago with an intensive all day session, where we discussed the challenges of the site and reviewed seven design elements that were identified as critical components for the design proposals – an iconic and welcoming ferry terminal, continuous waterfront access, improved queuing area, an enhanced Harbour Square Park, connections between the terminal and the rest of the city, promote sustainable development and provide universal access.
This short video offers an introduction to the design competition and the five design teams charged with the important task of creating innovative ideas that will transform the unique and important area around the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal.
