Designing the Natural World: Corktown Common - June 10, 2017

Take a walk through Corktown Common and you can't help but feel that you are immersed in nature. And, though you might not notice, this park is perhaps one of the most constructed landscapes in our city. This tour will explore the process of designing a space that exudes nature, while incorporating important city infrastructure and creating a park system that can withstand intense human use. This is a 75-minute tour. Meet at the Pavilion on the hilltop in Corktown Common. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE EVENT HERE:

Why is Corktown Common closed so early for the Games?

Since opening in 2013, Corktown Common has quickly become one of Toronto’s most beloved new parks.

Corktown Common is an active, vibrant and inviting park – the heart of the new West Don Lands neighbourhood – and also an integral part of the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Athletes’ Village (Athletes’ Village). Which is why the park is included within the secure perimeter fence line and public access was closed on June 1, 2015.
