May 6, 2013, Toronto, ON—The voting round for Name That Park is now underway. Until May 17, the public may vote for one of the five names chosen from the 448 suggested names received from the public. The name with the most number of votes will ultimately become the new name of the park.
April 24, 2013, Toronto, ON— Last call for submissions to Name That Park. You have until this Thursday, April 25 at 11:59 pm to submit your suggestion to name Toronto’s the next great waterfront park. Since the contest launched on April 11, almost 400 names have been submitted.
April 11, 2013, Toronto, ON— The public is invited to come up with a name for the next great waterfront park opening this summer in the West Don Lands. The naming contest by Waterfront Toronto and The Grid encourages the public to submit their ideas for a new park name, and then ultimately choose the winning name through an online voting process.
September 8, 2010, Toronto, ON— Waterfront Toronto together with the Governments of Canada and Ontario and the City of Toronto officially broke ground today on Don River Park, a massive new park that will be the cornerstone of the new West Don Lands community.

Toronto, June 25, 2007 – Federal Environment Minister John Baird, Ontario Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal David Caplan and Toronto Mayor David Miller today launched the start of construction of both a flood protection berm and the Don River Park in the West Don Lands, the first new community to be developed as part of waterfront revitalization.
